Spain and Italy reported new spikes in coronavirus instances on Wednesday after ending their strict blockages months ago, as more viral instances are detected across Europe in a worrying trend.
On Wednesday, Spain’s Ministry of Fitness said 3,715 new cases had been detected, the highest count in a single day since Spain left the blockade in June, according to Reuters.
The health authorities insist that Spain does see degrees that would involve a wave of moments, and that the sharp increase in the number of tests can also be attributed to an intensification of them.
Italy has also damaged a record number of high cases since it lifted its blockade in May, according to the Guardian, with a build-up of 642 cases of coronavirus.
Italy ordered the closure of nightclubs on Sunday for several weeks, as the country, the former epicentre of the pandemic, began to see an increasing number of new cases.
“Italy is lately at a crossroads. If we do not put containment measures into force and the numbers continue to rise, localized locks will be needed,” Health Ministry adviser Walter Ricciardi told the Guardian.
Last week, Spain also suspended nightlife in an attempt to curb cases.
Many new infections have been detected in Europe in other young people, warned the regional director for Europe of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, in saying Today, a BBC Radio four programme in July, that other young people “have a duty to themselves, their parents, grandparents and their communities ” to continue to distance themselves from society.
