We spoke to our iCentres in Jedburgh and Dumfries about what has happened in recent months.
It has been to welcome many more visitors from abroad, adding from the mainland and other places. Places like Argentina and Brazil. We have also noticed the return of more training matches.
Some other people commented that they had been to Scotland before, but in particular returned to our domain as they overlooked it in their lastArray.
The attendance has been very good for the last 3 months and we have welcomed visitors from all over the world: our gigantic organization of Italians who spend the night in their motorhomes is back.
Many stopover passengers commented on how good it was, despite everything, to come and stop in Scotland after COVID-19 restrictions, or how good it was to be back.
We speak to an adorable young Belgian girl who is in Scotland on honeymoon. They fell in love with Scotland, and she “a little tearful” for leaving. She searched for a wealth of data so they could move from home and plan their next vacation here.
She said they would take a motorhome for their return layover to explore more of the country. She worked in a data center near Flanders in Belgium, so she left very happy, armed with brochures and useful data to plan her next adventure.
It has been to see the return of several local events. The annual Callants festival in July, the Jedburgh market in August and the Birl and Bear festival in August. Although we haven’t been directly involved in those events, they are wonderful for the local network. And so we welcome many new visitors to our door.
As we approach the holiday season and Christmas, we hope to host an iCentre event alongside the Jedburgh seasonal market.
A genuine sense of relief after COVID-19. People are very pleased to have the freedom to explore again. The number of visitors has still returned to 2019 levels, but it is excellent to have the possibility to announce our excellent region!
Our What’s Open document (released under COVID-19 to help published guides with up-to-date information) remains very popular. We update it frequently and send a new edition every two weeks. If you would like to subscribe to the mailing list, please let us know.
Visitor numbers have still reached 2019 levels, but we expect them to do so soon.
The reviews have been correct and we are delighted to receive a five-star TripAdvisor review for our VSA Claire.
