South Korea reports one of 3 months out of 3 domestic infections

SEUL – Coronavirus in South Korea is solid with more than 80% of new confirmed instances

Korea reported 23 new COVID-19 instances on Monday, adding 20 instances imported from abroad. The total number of instances in the country as of Sunday 14,389, according to the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A new organization of coronavirus infections has made the impression at a coffee shop in southern Seoul. The initial patient visited the café and then a restaurant, infecting nine others to date.

The initial epidemiological examination shows that a proven patient, who developed symptoms on July 26 and is connected to the organization at a camp in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, remained in the café for approximately 30 minutes on July 22. A total of 10 other people who tested positive for the virus go back to the camp.

Of those broadcast locally, two were recorded in Seoul and one in Gyeonggi Province, which surrounds the capital.

Imported instances have outnumbered transmissions in recent weeks.

Of the 20 instances imported on Monday, 14 were from Asia, 4 from Bangladesh, 4 from Russia, two from the Philippines, two from Japan, one from India, Iraq and Kazakhstan, and 3 from the United States and one from Mexico Two instances arrived here from Algeria.

Fourteen of the imported instances were aware of the border quarantine detection process, while six were detected while undergoing mandatory quarantine in Korea.

Currently, the government requests that foreigners from six countries with maximum infection rates (Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines and Uzbekistan) submit the certificate, with the revised list of the “high risk” country base.

So far, 13280 other people, or 92.29%, have been released from quarantine after fully recovering, 21 until the day before. About 806 more people receive quarantined medical care. Thirteen other people remain in serious or critical condition.

No more deaths were reported, with the remaining number of deaths in 301. The overall mortality rate is 2.09% – 2.45% for men and 1.79% for women. The rate is much higher for those over 80 (24.87%) and for 70-year-olds: 9.47%.

The country has conducted 1,579,757 tests since 3 January, and another 17,401 people are expecting the effects on Monday.
