South Africa considers features of Vladimir Putin’s arrest warrant

Geoffrey York is one of Canada’s longest-serving correspondents and one of The Globe and Mail’s longest-serving journalists. After a 13-year career in Canadian offices and rhythms, he has worked in offices since 1994, first in Moscow (1994 to 2002), then in Beijing (2002 to 2008) and then in Johannesburg (2009 to present).

He has won awards for his investigative reporting and policy on Indigenous issues in Canada and abroad. Geoffrey covered the Oka crisis in 1990 as one of the few bloodhounds who remained inside the headquarters for his final weeks. He has covered wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Chechnya, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere.

He is the author or co-author of 3 books: The Dispossessed (on Aboriginal issues in Canada); People of the Pines (about the Oka crisis); and The High Price of Health (on medical policy in Canada). Two of his books have been national bestsellers in Canada.
