Sri Lanka’s International Cricket Council club has been suspended with immediate effect, the governing body announced on Friday afternoon. The resolution follows interference in the management of Sri Lanka Cricket.

I’m proud of the way our batters performed in this tournament, we were struggling before the World Cup. We sat together and talked about our weaknesses – In the end – you saw how our batters did and it is a positive sign for the future.
Everyone knows that we have spinners. If we continue the same momentum we had in terms of hitters in this World Cup, we’ll get there. We have given a message to the world. We played with wonderful bands and fought until the last moment, even if we lost.
