Sohar Aluminium and GE sign 10-year power contract in Oman

Provide repairs and portions for ten years for 4 GT13E2 fuel turbines and 4 turbines installed on site

Sohar, Sultanate of Oman: Sohar Aluminium has signed a service contract for GE Gas Power (NYSE: GE) to supply repairs, maintenance and portions over ten years for 4 GT13E2 fuel turbines and 4 turbines installed in the Sultanate of Omán. GE Digital will also supply its asset performance management (APM) software for the duration of the contract.

The 4 sets have a generation capacity of up to 696 megawatts (MW) and the electrical power produced is used to force the soaring of Sohar aluminum. The responses provided through GE are expected to increase reliability, increasing the availability of each of the fuel turbines, lowering prices and decreasing operational risks, thus improving the productivity of the smelter.
