Sisi says ‘Egypt is fine’

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said “Egypt is fine” in his meeting with citizens of Dakahlia governorate earlier Thursday.

When asked by several citizens about his stopover at the Sherbin Sports Club, Sisi confided to the participants that Egypt is fine and that the war and conflict are not yet over and that there are other people who need Egyptians to live in permanent anxiety. However, the rest of the Egyptians have not yielded to any malicious tricks, he added.

The president pointed out that the State has made many efforts to mitigate the effect of emerging values on household generation needs, adding that some 17 million housing complexes obtain electricity with a third of its value before fuel. It is worth increasing.

However, when electricity prices per unit reached $40-60 in Europe, other people paid the price for such an increase, but it is difficult to do the same in Egypt, the president noted.

He said the Russian-Ukrainian war had influenced the costs of wheat, oil and other raw materials.

In Egypt, we buy fabrics abroad, either in dollars or euros, and the volume of imports is greater than exports, Sisi said, adding that the government was handling the unrest well until the coronavirus and the outbreak of war. However, great efforts have been made to mitigate the effect of the war against the Egyptians, he added.

In response to a query from poultry farm owners about the emerging costs of maize, Sisi said Egypt imports 7 million tonnes of maize and that there are plans to maintain farmland, adding that patience is needed in relation to production needs to pay for food costs and other fundamental needs. .

He expressed hope that the problems would be resolved in the next two months.

Sisi clarified that the increase in fertilizer costs is due to an increase in fuel costs of up to $30 or $40 and perhaps $60 dlrs due to the war, noting that this challenge considers the global total and not just Egypt.
