Singapore travellers can purchase insurance for COVID-19 costs

SINGAPORE – Travelers arriving in Singapore can now purchase an insurance policy at prices similar to those of Covid-19 that they incurred during their stay here.

The minimum amount of policy was made on the basis of the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (MS), which reviewed the Covid-19 remedy bills in personal hospitals.

While AIG and HL Insurance have started promoting their insurance products, Chubb’s will be available from November 27.

Under existing rules, incoming foreign travellers entering Singapore via various safe routes must assume the general charge of medical remedy, testing and isolation, if they are suspected of being inflamed with Covid-19 or require a medical remedy for the virus in Singapore.

As such, the insurance plan will help them cover some of those costs, CAG and STB said.

CAG and STB stated that premiums for those incoming insurance plans start at $ 5. 35, with GST, and can be purchased directly from insurers through their respective websites.
