Singapore to begin human trials of coronavirus vaccine this week: report

Singapore will begin human trials this week for a Covid-19 vaccine developed through the Duke-NUS School of Medicine and the US pharmaceutical company Arcturus Therapeutics, Straits Times reports.

“Lunar-Cov19” is one of 25 international candidate vaccines to succeed in the human test level and will be tested on 108 healthy volunteers of other ages in Singapore, the newspaper said.

The trial will have the protection of the vaccine and its ability to produce the “soldiers” needed to help the picture fight an infection, said Professor Ooi Eng Eong, deputy director of the Emerging Infectious Diseases Program at Duke-NUS School of Medicine.
