The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has partnered with the Indian Tripoto platform to launch a microsite on the online tripoto page as a component of efforts to keep Singapore among Indian readers, even though Covid-19 restrictions prevail.
Designed as an exclusive consultant for Indian travelers, the microsite offers content that encourages them to “Rediscover Singapore Now, Travel After”. In addition to virtually finding Singapore attractions like Sentosa and Gardens By The Bay in the Singapore-Home section, users can also visit to prepare Singaporean specialties such as kueh dadar and chwee kueh with recipes to stay at home.
To please the kids, there are also a number of interactive fun games – Home with Merli, a portrayal of the character of Merlion, Singapore’s top featured icon. The microsite also refers to the STB online page which contains the latest data on Covid-19 tips for visitors and tourism companies.
GB Srithar, Regional Director – India, Middle East and South Asia, STB, said: “While restrictions remain in place, it is vital that target brands continue to interact with consumers creatively and remain connected. In recent years, STB has used virtual marketing in its efforts to advertise the destination. We are pleased to collaborate in this company, an exclusive microsite created through a national tourism organization on the Tripoto platform.”
India Singapore’s third largest source of visitors in 2019, with 1.42 million visitors, after China and Indonesia. A recent global survey conducted through Blackbox Research, Dynata and Language Connect showed that Singapore is the most sensible exit destination for Indians in terms of post-pandemic travel.
