Singapore seeks to attract global traders and skill with Tech. Pass visas

Singapore grants two-year visas to generation marketing specialists or technical experts who delight in “established or fast-growing” generation corporations to enroll in the country’s generation ecosystem. The “directed” Tech. Pass program is a component of the government’s efforts to expand a generation and opportunity generation business hub for its local talent.

Launched Thursday, the new initiative, the Economic Development Board (EDB), would give pass holders the flexibility to participate in a variety of activities, add the start and operation of a business, be an investor, advise new companies, or lecture at local universities. You may also be an employee, representative or manager of one or more Singapore-based companies.

A government company under the Department of Commerce and Industry, EDB, declared that the Tech. Pass visa would be valid for two years and renewable for two more years if the holder met the required criteria. They can also take their spouses, youth, and parents with them.

To be eligible for the visa, applicants must meet at least two set conditions, adding a last constant monthly salary of at least SG$20,000 and at least five years of cumulative enjoyment in a leadership role in a generation company, which has a market capitalization of at least $500 million or has raised at least $30 million in funds. They may also have at least five years of cumulative delight in a leadership role in the progression of a generation product with at least 100,000 active users per month or at least $100 million in annual revenue.

To renew their Tech. Pass visas, holders would like to earn at least SG $ 240,000 in a taxable source of income or demonstrate annual general business expenses of at least SG $ 100,000 and employ at least one local professional. They also take on at least two of the roles, adding the creation of a Singapore-based company providing generation or generation products or services, as well as a leadership role in two or more Singapore-based generation companies.

Tech. Pass will begin accepting programs in January 2021, with 500 visas available at the time of launch on a first-come, first-served basis.

The program is an extension of the Tech SG initiative that was introduced in 2019, which aimed to expand the main potential companies in Singapore.

Together, the two projects aimed to pave the way for fast-growing generation corporations and the established generation ability to enter Singapore, providing their networks and expertise, EDB said.
