On Friday, Singapore reported 5,301 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the country’s total to 2,091,889.
Of the new cases, 521 were detected by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 4,780 by ART (rapid antigen test), according to statistics through the Ministry of Health.
Of the PCR instances, 499 were local transmissions and 22 were imported. Among the instances of ART with symptoms assessed as low risk, there were 4427 local transmissions and 353 imported instances.
A total of 557 cases are hospitalized lately, 16 in intensive care units.
Two more deaths from COVID-19 were reported Friday, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,672.
