Singapore reports 2,686 new COVID-19 infections

Singapore reported 2,686 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total to 2,121,435.

Of the new cases, 299 were detected by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,387 by ART (rapid antigen test), according to statistics through the Ministry of Health.

Of the PCR instances, 282 were local transmissions and 17 were imported. Among the instances of ART with symptoms assessed as low risk, there were 2265 local transmissions and 122 imported instances.

A total of 378 cases are hospitalized lately, 16 in intensive care units.

One new death from COVID-19 was reported Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,686.
