Singapore, Japan to resume a must-have from September 2020

Singapore and Japan can expect an essential activity and resume from 18 September 2020.

The news comes after either country agreed to remove existing restrictions due to COVID-19, called Business Track, Singapore and Japan resumed their must-see travel after a pass through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) on 11 September 2020.

With the resumption of trade and cross-border interactions, security measures should be observed. This includes COVID-19 tests before departure and after arrival. Visitors also deserve to join a 14-day itinerary upon arrival.

While Singapore has already established reciprocal greenways with China, Malaysia, Brunei and New Zealand, this is the first step for Japan.

The country, which has recently banned all foreign nationals from 146 designated countries and regions, announced at the end of July that it would start talks with 12 Asian economies, adding Singapore, on how to resume travel.

The Japan-Singapore agreement will protect short-term business travelers such as expats and other long-term residents, Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed.

MFA also added that the path “will help repair connectivity and economic recovery” for both countries. With more and more greenways in paintings among Asian countries, this is a smart sign for the economy and expansion of the region. Opening an essential trip between Singapore and Japan can inspire other countries to do so.
