SINGAPORE – The Ministry of Health (MOH) showed 10 new COVID-19s in Singapore on Wednesday (7 October), bringing the country’s total to 57,840.

The two new instances are asymptomatic and have been proactively detected, the Ministry of Health said.

Of these, 4 are cases that live in foreign dormitories, where one was known in the past as contact with past instances and had already been quarantined and tested; three were detected by surveillance tests.

The other six are imported cases, some of which come from Myanmar. All had gained a 14-day recognition upon arrival here and were tested while serving in compromised facilities.

Overall, 20% of new ones have no established ties and epidemiological research is ongoing.

“Meanwhile, all known close contacts in the instances have been remote and quarantined, and will be evaluated at the beginning and end of their quarantine age so that we can stumble upon asymptomatic cases. We will also conduct serological tests for contacts close to whether the instances may have been inflamed with them,” the Ministry of Health said.

The ministry noted that the number of new people on the network has remained strong on average one case consistent with the day for more than two weeks.

He added that the number of unrelated instances on the network has remained strong on average of less than one case consistent with the day over the more than two weeks.

The ministry also announced the closure of two clusters at S11 Dormitory-Punggol at 2 Seletar North Link and at the structure site at nine Penang Road/ 8 Loyang Crescent, as no instances have been connected to them in the last two incubation periods, i. e. 28 days.

With 12 patients discharged from hospitals or network isolation services on Wednesday, 57,624 cases, or 99. 6% of the total, have fully recovered from infection.

Most of the 39 hospitalized instances are robust or improving, while one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

A total of 150 patients with mild symptoms or who are clinically well but still tested are remote and treated in network facilities.
