SINGAPORE: On Friday (September 4) a fast lane will open for citizens of Singapore and South Korea for those who will have to make essential business trips or officials between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement.Wednesday.
In a telephone verbal exchange Wednesday, Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and her South Korean counterpart, Kang Kyung-wha, welcomed the conclusion of bilateral negotiations on a safe track for a business and an essential official between the two countries, the ministry said.
This will “help repair connectivity and economic recovery with mandatory public guarantees of fitness,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Eligible travellers must comply with the agreed and in force public fitness measures in the respective countries.
These come with promises of fitness in the form of pre-departure and post-arrival tests and the desire to stick to a controlled itinerary for the first 14 days in the host country.
Operational details, addition of requirements, fitness protocols and the application process will be published on SafeTravel until Friday, MFA said.
“Ministers reaffirmed the importance of bilateral cooperation to jointly succeed on the non-unusual demanding situations of the two countries amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Foreign Ministry said, adding that both sides were eagerly awaiting the launch of the fast track..
