Singapore Airlines and Virgin Airlines resume codeshare flights

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin Australia (VA) have resumed sales of VA codeshare flights to a multitude of destinations on the SIA network.

Customers can now book directly through Virgin Australia’s online page to and from Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and beyond, as well as enjoy all the rewards and benefits of the extended partnership.

Working together since 2011, the two airlines continued to provide travelers before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, providing one of the most advantageous common traveler systems in the world.

Alistair Hartley, Group Chief Strategy and Transformation, VA, said: “The expansion of our partnership with Singapore Airlines means we can offer our unwavering consumers more choice and pricing when travelling overseas, creating more tactics to see the world, through glorious reporting on Singapore Airlines.

VA will share code in 42 destinations covering 23 countries in the SIA network, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam; Seoul, South Korea; Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Paris in Europe; London, United Kingdom; Jakarta, Indonesia; and SIA’s base, Singapore.

SIA will continue to offer codeshare flights on 64 routes covering 31 destinations across VA’s domestic and international network, adding the addition of Queenstown in New Zealand.

JoAnn Tan, Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at SIA, said: “The return of the VA code on SIA flights provides even more opportunities for Australians to explore the world seamlessly, wherever they are. As more countries in Asia remove restrictions, this also opens Australia to ers from those regions.

Both airlines will continue to expand codeshare flights to more destinations on the AIS network in the coming weeks, subject to regulatory approval.
