Guests at the Shanghai Disney Resort were stuck there after the Chinese government imposed an instant lockdown, trapping everyone until they tested negative for covid-19, the city government said in an online statement Monday, Oct. 31.

The report adds that those who have visited the park since October 27 must test negative for 3 Covid-19 tests on 3 consecutive days and “avoid participating in activities of the organization. “

The park says attractions such as Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park will be closed “effective immediately. “

No express date has been given on when the park will reopen, and the park will notify “as soon as they have a date shown to resume operations. “

The immediate closure comes just two days after the park began operating at reduced capacity to comply with Covid-19 measures.

Trapped inside

Several videos on Chinese media Weibo showed other people running to the gates of the park to get out, but finding them already closed.

Other footage showed many fitness staff members with hazmat attacks undergoing nucleic acid tests, similar to PCR tests, in a position to administer to park visitors.

More than 30,000 guests at Shanghai Disneyland have been asked to undergo nucleic acid testing before they are allowed to leave the park after an incoming visitor tested positive for the novel coronavirus, a move underscoring China’s insistence on eliminarlo. pic. twitter. com/ braf96ojdg

Long lines have been noticed for other people to get tested and leave the park.

Security guards were placed at entrances or exits to prevent visitors from leaving before they were examined.

Many turned to Weibo to express their sadness at the situation.

“I came here to have fun, but I’m angry,” one user said.

However, loose food was distributed to those trapped inside.

At 10 p. m. , other people finally broke free from the park and were able to do the last exercise to return home at 11:30 p. m. m.

Zero Covid Policy

China’s zero-covid policy has already seen millions of others repeatedly locked up, in unusual places.

The sudden closures caused other people to flee the stores, adding Swedish furniture store IKEA, as well as workplaces, as they tried to get trapped inside.

The incident preceded Shanghai reporting 10 asymptomatic locally transmitted cases on Saturday, according to the National Health Commission.

China reported 2,699 COVID-19 infections on Oct. 31.
