Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy accused President Trump of “deliberately killing people.”
“Can we take off our gloves and tell the truth? Trump is intentionally killing other people. Organize rallies where other people are infected. On Thursday, there was no social estrangement or masks, sending a transparent message that cdc would be ignored.” Murphy wrote on Twitter. “Your plan is to kill other people. Let’s say it.
On the final night of the Republican National Convention speech, 1,500 participants distanced the property socially and few members of the crowd dressed in face masks were noticed. Murphy accused senior Trump administration officials, adding Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, of being “bloodless killers” and blamed them for the next 50,000 coronavirus deaths.
“These guys are bloodless killers. The next 50,000 people who die are in your care. They sat side by side and didn’t intentionally wear a mask,” he wrote on Twitter Friday, accompanied by a photo of Trump’s leaders. “They knew that a role model was appearing and reveled in it. Calculation. Cold. KILLERS.”
Media critic Stephen Miller said Murphy turned Reverend Al Sharpton into a “genocidal maniac” for speaking at the Washington March, an occasion attended by thousands of people.
The Connecticut Libertarian Party called the senator’s statements “bold” and asked if he was planning a “bold” tweet about Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont’s resolution to send “COVID to retirement homes.”
