The president of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, the COVID-19 epidemic had highlighted the difficult situations in Nigeria’s education and fitness sectors.
Speaking to journalists at an investiture/prize rite organized through the Ethics Resource Center on Wednesday, NLC leader Comrade Wabba said the coronavirus disease epidemic (COVID-19) had exposed the demanding situations in Nigeria’s education and fitness sectors.
Wabba, which called on the federal government to increase investment in any of the sectors, noted that any of the sectors are shaping progression around the world.
He said: “COVID-19 has defined the demanding situations in the two critical sectors of our economy and those sectors are shaping progression around the world: the education and fitness sector.
“As a result, we want more investment in education and health. Our workers want to be healthy to be productive. If we do not, then it will be difficult to achieve the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
Wabba said the country’s union leaders needed a knowledge-based technique to deal with emerging demand situations in the world of work.
The Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital, Mohammed Bello, asked fitness personnel to continue painting the provision of services in the system.
Bello, who represented through the human resources director of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Muhammad Bashir, said he would prioritize the well-being of fitness staff at the CTF.
