The Chinese government is moving cases shown to COVID-19 camps as part of its “Zero COVID” policy, via buses. One of those buses crashed on a mountain road in September, killing 27 others and injuring 20 others.
The bus crash was temporarily the number one hot topic on China’s Twitter-like Weibo platform before being buried by censors.
Local police broke the news of the accident, gathering 12,000 shares on social media. However, censors intervened temporarily due to the backlash against China’s COVID-19 policies, and the accident was removed from the list of topical issues.
