Schenectady County health officials warn of possible exposure to COVID-19

SCHENECTADY – The Schenectady County Department of Public Health issued a press release Saturday informing CDTA passengers that they may have been exposed to those who have since been diagnosed with COVID-19.

In the press release, SCPHS showed that a user subsequently diagnosed with COVID-19 took the CDTA bus number 370 at 7:05 a.m. on August 12 and 13.

SCPHS recommends that members of the public who have taken the bus during the periods discussed deserve to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days from that date. If symptoms occur, the government asks affected Americans to stay at home and call their doctor and SCPHS at (518) 386-2824 option 2 for more advice.

Older people or others with underlying medical situations contact their doctor as soon as possible, even if their illness or symptoms are mild.

Tests can also be done extensively and anyone can get tested for COVID-19 by visiting one of the https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you indexed clinics.

This month, Schenectady County Loose Network Testing Systems will be installed Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridge Community Center, at 735 Crane Street, and Thursdays from 2 p.m. 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Schenectady Islamic Center at 89 North Brandywine Ave. Registration is mandatory and can be completed by calling (518) 419-0370.

SCHPS also suggests that members of the public protect themselves and others by wearing a face mask when they are in public when social estrangement is not possible. It also recommends that everyone wash their hands frequently, cough and sneeze with canopy and disinfect surfaces.
