Saudi police weigh against smuggling 107 kg of cannabis into the trunk of the vehicle

Abu Dhabi: Saudi police in Jazan stopped one to smuggle 107kg of cannabis creatively hidden in the trunk of a vehicle driven by a Saudi citizen, police said.

“This is undoubtedly a significant interception of hard-line narcotics carried out through our frontline officers,” said Colonel Ahmed Al Towayyan, director of relations and media at the Ministry of the Interior’s Security Regiment Affairs Agency.

“Preventing drugs from entering our communities is a more sensible precedent for cash operations in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

The defendant and bust were returned to the prosecutor’s office, police said.
