Saudi Arabia’s oldest tour dies from COVID-19

Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s oldest excursion died on the first day of Eid Al Adha after being inflamed with the new coronavirus, Al Arabiya reported.

Saeed Jamaan, a 90-year veteran of the Najran region of southern Saudi Arabia, died Friday morning. He also suffered from age-related problems and is survived by seven sons and six daughters.

Jamaan, better known as “Abu Sind”, illiterate in his youth. But later, he became familiar with foreign languages: English, French and German 50 years ago.

This basically attributes it to his fondness for social painting and tourist service. This hobby allowed him to paint in the tourist sector of Najran to familiarize foreign tourists with the rich history and heritage of the Kingdom.

Five months ago, an Okaz reporter visited him at his home while recovering from pneumonia. At the time, he had also had a lung transplant due to breathing problems, but he was in a good mood.

Jamaan began his career with a small task in the carpentry sector at Saudi Aramco in the Eastern Province. “It was the possibility that I came here through a Red Cross painter and that allowed me to move on to paintings with the International Red Cross founded in the southern region of the Kingdom,” he said in the interview. Jamaan noted that working with the Red Cross has allowed him to gain extensive experience in treating medical cases, as well as mastering foreign languages.
