Cairo/Sputnik: Saudi Arabia reopened on Sunday the Grand Mosque of Mecca, the most sacred of Muslims, for prayers, after a seven-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the official spa news agency reported.
The country has also moved on to a momentary phase of the slow resumption of the Umrah pilgrimage to the holy city for its citizens and the citizens of the kingdom, expanding the city’s capacity from 30% to 75%.
The Hajj and Omra Ministry is doing everything it can to enforce all mandatory sanitary measures, according to the agency. About 4,000 workers are concerned about cleaning the territory of the mosque and disinfected 10 times a day.
