Cairo: Authorities in the Saudi holy city of Medina have announced the start of registrations to provide accommodation facilities to Muslim pilgrims for next year’s annual Hajj.

The deadline is not clear without delay. Next year’s Hajj will take place in June.
Medina is home to the Prophet’s Mosque, which is Al Rawda Al Sharifa, where the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is located.

Starting with initial preparations for the pilgrimage season, the Medina government opened registration for pilgrim accommodation in the city in July.
The inscription extends to the end of Rajab, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calfinishar.
Nearly two million pilgrims from around the world performed the Hajj in June in Saudi Arabia, marking the return of their numbers to pre-pandemic levels.
Saudi Arabia has already set regulations for the upcoming Hajj season and has focused on early preparations.
According to the rules, no express posts will be allocated to countries staying at Saudi holy sites during the new pilgrimage season, the kingdom’s Hajj minister Tawfeeq Al Rabiah said.
He explained that bids for other countries would be designated at the end of the contracts.
“The country that concludes the first contracts will have priority to occupy the appropriate places in the holy places,” he said.
The issuance of Hajj visas will begin on March 1 and end on March 20, the tenth month of the Islamic calfinishar corresponding to April 29.
The arrival of Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia will begin on the first of Dhul Qaidah, the eleventh Islamic month, corresponding to May 9. The new mechanism aims to facilitate arrangements for the Hajj, a mandatory Islamic duty.
