RIYADH, Saudi Arabia/ANKARA
Saudi Arabia will be the “mature men” in the recent dispute with the United States over oil production, according to the kingdom’s energy minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.
Riyadh has recently angered Washington over OPEC’s resolution of oil makers to cut output.
U. S. President Joe Biden has voiced criticism, warning Saudi Arabia, which leads the group, of the consequences.
“We, like Saudi Arabia, have to be mature guys,” Salman said at the Future Investment Initiative convention in Riyadh on Tuesday.
Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih also dismissed fears of a break with the United States, saying the classic allies are “historic and solid. “
In 80 years of diplomatic relations, “a lot of water has flowed under the bridge,” he said, adding that Riyadh and Washington will triumph over their recent differences.
