Cairo: Saudi Arabia has presented a large-scale disinfection plan for the Prophet Muhammad mosque in Medina for the resumption of visits to the sacred site.
The plan presented through the general president of the Grand Mosque and the Affairs of the Mosque of the Prophet Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, the Saudi news firm SPA reported.
The plan uses ozone disinfection generation and includes inspection visits, box and laboratory analysis, and disease mechanisms, according to the report.
The Saudi government will begin next Sunday to put into effect the moment phase of a progressive plan for the restart of Umrah and visits to the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina. The first phase began on October 4, allowing Umrah for a limited number of pilgrims from the interior of the kingdom.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Tuesday presented an electronic service to download permits to pray at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. “The guest plan for guests at the Prophet’s Mosque is in line with the precautionary measures followed by the state for the health and protection of all guests,” Al Sudais said.
Muslims abroad will be allowed to go to Saudi Arabia to practice Umrah from 1 November, ending a break of approximately 8 months.
