Nov 5 (UPI) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday condemned comments by an Israeli who called dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza “one of the possibilities” in the management of the conflict.
The kingdom’s comments were a reaction to comments made by Amichay Eliyahu, Israel’s Minister of Heritage and a member of the extremist political group Otzma Yehudit.
Eliyahu made the remarks in an interview with Radio Kol Berama expressing sadness with the Israel Defense Forces, which he said had been competitive enough in their reaction to the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas militants opposed to Israel.
The moot later attempted to retract his comments, calling them “metaphorical. “
Eliyahu has also voiced his objections to the concept of offering humanitarian aid to Palestinians, believing that Gaza has no right to exist and that waving a Palestinian flag deserves death.
