Saudi Airlift brings the fourth emergency to Damascus, supporting Syria after the Assadles

Istanbul

A fourth Saudi relief plane landed in Damascus on Friday carrying essential aid as part of an airlift initiated by Saudi Arabia to assist the Syrian people following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024.

According to the Saudi news agency, the plane, organized through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Aid Center, delivered foods, shelters and medical materials to other people in need.

This follows 3 previous flights, two on Wednesday and a Thursday, with a shipment similar to the Syrians in their recovery.

According to SPA, Saudi Arabia has been a consistent supporter of the Syrian people since the uprising began in 2011 and the country has provided humanitarian aid worth $856.9 million by the end of 2024.

Kingdom’s commitment to reconstruction is fitting because recent World Bank reports imply that 27% of Syrians, around 5. 7 million people, live in excessive poverty, unable to fulfill their fundamental desires due to unstoppable economic crises.

Air shipping was introduced into reaction to the critical humanitarian desires of the Syrians after the fall of the Assad government, which marked the end of 61 years of government of the Baath party and 53 years of control of the Assad family.

The acquisition came here after Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s fighters captured key cities in a lightning offensive that lasted less than two weeks.

A new management led through Ahmed al-Sharaa has now been in charge.
