SANTIAGO, Chile, 25 August 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Banco Santander has presented its new virtual debit card, available to all its consumers with a debit card connected to their existing account, Life Account, debit account for singles or electronic checkbook, also as university accounts. This will allow you to make purchases and pay online or in mobile apps, without the need for a credit card.
The existing aptitude contingency, as well as social estrangement and/or containment tips, have led to a replacement in behavior in the way other people conduct their transactions, creating an unprecedented construction in e-commerce. This, combined with the increase in the number of cellular programs and virtual platforms that require a secure electronic payment formula that until now was not available to everyone, led Banco Santander Chile to launch this innovation.
In this way, the new virtual debit card will allow all Banco Santander consumers to make online transactions and be connected to the physical debit card.
“This is a wonderful technological advancement that we are providing to all our consumers, at a time when internet commerce has skyrocketed in Chile, tripling since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. With this payment method, and other inventions like the Chip Bracelet or the 100 percent virtual Life Account, we are offering our consumers answers that make life less difficult and safer. Our groups have worked hard to design new responses and we will soon announce additional inventions,” said Matas Sánchez, head of Banco Santander Chile’s Commercial Banking Division.
The launch of this product is the Internet portal or the Santander application. Once activated, the visitor can quickly see their separate card number and the data needed to pay in the online store in Chile or abroad.
