New Mexico reported 1,505 new coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, down 4. 7 from last week. Last week, there were 1,580 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
New Mexico ranked 38th among states where the coronavirus was the fastest over time, according to a USA TODAY study of data from Johns Hopkins University.
Over the past week, coronavirus cases in the U. S. have been in the U. S. The U. S. decreased by 19. 4% from last week, with 323,859 cases reported. With 0. 63 percent of the country’s population, New Mexico recorded 0. 46 percent of the country’s cases last week. Nationwide, 10 states had more cases in the week beyond than in the week afterlife.
San Juan County has reported 89 cases and no deaths in the past week. A week earlier, it had reported 87 cases and deaths. During the pandemic, it has reported 47,318 cases and 829 deaths.
Across New Mexico, cases fell in 19 counties, with the most productive declines in Doña Ana County, from -122 cases to 61 last week; in Bernalillo County, with 519 out of 587 instances; and Santa Fe County, with 84 out of 98 cases.

In New Mexico, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in Otero County with 354 cases per 100,000 per week; Rio Arriba County with 242; and Los Alamos County with 139. The Centers for Disease Control says the highest levels of network transmission start at 100 instances per 100,000 per week.
Bernalillo County, with 519 instances, added the maximum number of new instances overall; Otero County, with 239 instances; and Sandoval County, with 159. The number of weekly instances is higher in nine counties than last week. The worst increases from last week’s speed occurred in Otero, Sandoval and Los Alamos counties.
In New Mexico, another 15 people were reported dead from COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. The previous week, another 37 people had died.
A total of 618,683 more people in New Mexico have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 8,567 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the United States, 96,397,885 more people tested positive and 1,059,605 other people died.
