New Mexico reported 3,714 new coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, down 8. 7 from last week. Last week, there were 4,068 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
New Mexico ranked 22nd among the states where the coronavirus spread the fastest, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University’s USA TODAY data network. In New Mexico, another 52 people were reported to have died of COVID-19. in the week ending Sunday. Last week, another 35 people were killed.
Over the past week, coronavirus cases in the United States increased by 10. 8% over last week, with 654,873 cases reported. With 0. 63 percent of the country’s population, New Mexico recorded 0. 57 percent of the country’s cases last week. Nationwide, 16 states had more instances in the week beyond than in the week beyond.
San Juan County has reported 287 and no deaths in the past week. A week earlier it had reported 258 and 3 deaths. Throughout the pandemic, it has reported 46,746 and 819 deaths.
“Across New Mexico, instances declined in 19 counties, with the most productive declines in Bernalillo County, with 1039 instances up from 1190 the previous week; the county of Doña Ana, with 347 of 470 instances; and Lea County, with 150 out of 254 instances.

In New Mexico, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in Roosevelt County with 470 cases per 100,000 per week; McKinley County with 409; and Grant County with 241. The Centers for Disease Control says the highest levels of network transmission start at 100 instances per 100,000 per week.
Bernalillo County, with 1,039 instances, added the most new instances overall; the county of Doña Ana, with 347 instances; and McKinley County, with 292. The highest weekly number of cases in 12 counties since last week. Last week’s worst speed increases occurred in McKinley, Roosevelt and San Juan counties.
A total of another 609,204 people in New Mexico have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 8,399 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the United States, another 94,190,979 people tested positive and 1,043,840 other people died.
