Department store sales in Japan in May rose 57. 8% from a year earlier on a similar basis thanks to higher visitor traffic as COVID-19 infections declined, according to industry data on Thursday.
Customer traffic has increased considerably, especially during the country’s Golden Week holiday era between April and early May, the Japan Department Store Association said.
