Salalah Airport in Oman receives more than 300,000 passengers this Khareef

The governorate has become one of the main tourist destinations of the Persian Gulf in the summer

Salalah: During this year’s Khareef season, Salalah Airport received more than 315,000 passengers between June and August 13.

Salim bin Awad Al Yafei, executive vice president of Salalah Airport, said the city receives 195 inbound and outbound flights every week.

He said the governorate has become one of the Persian Gulf’s top tourist destinations during the summer due to its exceptional herbarium climate, terrain and environmental diversity.

He said the airlines come with cheap airline Wizz (two flights a week from Abu Dhabi), Gulf Air (two flights a week from the Kingdom of Bahrain), Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways (6 flights a week from Kuwait) and Flynas (four flights a week from Saudi Arabia).

As for the companies that operate their flights the year and have higher frequencies: Qatar Airways (currently seven flights a week, Air Arabia (14 flights a week from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi), Fly Dubai (six flights a week from Dubai).

Al Yafei explained that Oman Air consistently performs around 12 domestic flights during the day and domestic Flights of Salam Air during the day.

The number of flights (international and domestic) at Salalah Airport increased by 68. 9% to 2743 in May 2022, to the same period in 2021, according to statistics published by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
