Russia’s Putin says it is strengthening WHO and proposing a convention on the coronavirus vaccine

NEW YORK – Russian President Vladimir Putin told the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that the World Health Organization must be strengthened to coordinate the global reaction to the coronavirus pandemic and proposed a high-level convention on vaccine cooperation.

“We propose to hold a high-level convention soon for countries interested in cooperation in the progression of coronavirus vaccines,” Putin said.

“We are in a position to share our delight and continue to cooperate with all foreign states and entities, adding up to the supply of the Russian vaccine that has proven to be reliable and effective for other countries,” he said.
