KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A Russian drone moved crippled electrical infrastructure in central Ukraine on Wednesday, injuring at least two other people in the western Lviv region, the Ukrainian government said.
The Energy Ministry said via the Telegram messaging app that an emergency device had been deployed to the sites of the attacks and that maintenance work was being carried out on broken electrical appliances in the western Lviv region.
Russian forces introduced drones to attack the Lviv region, which borders NATO member Poland, wounding two men, according to Lviv regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi.
Kozytskyi said on Telegram that all five drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems. The injuries and injuries were caused by falling debris.
The drone attack in the village of Malekhiv in the city district of Lviv broke a multi-story residential building, as well as many windows in other residential buildings, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi wrote on Telegram.
The attack also destroyed a veterinary medicine institute in Lviv, Sadovyi said.
The Ukraine Air Force said it destroyed 19 of the 21 drones introduced through Russia in six regions of Ukraine.
Reports may not be independently verified by Reuters. There is no immediate comment from Russia. Both sides deny targeting civilians in the war that Russia launched against its small neighbor in February 2022.
The city of Lviv is the administrative center of the Lviv region.
