MOSCOW – Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, said Thursday that he had become isolated after coming into contact with the new coronavirus.
The 73-year-old man said he was unable to register for church prayers with his congregation because of medical rules that force him to isolate himself and did not mention any symptoms on the church’s website.
Russia reported 11,493 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, slightly less than the maximum shown on a non-marriage day by the pandemic, bringing the overall total to 1260112. (Report via Anton Kolodyazhnyy; written through Tom Balmforth; edited via Tothrough Chopra)
