The Russian aquaculture company plans the first salmon fisheries in a domain that was in the past considered incorrect for the cultivation of the species.
The company plans to identify a mariculture facility in one that it rented at auction in July 2020.
As Russian Aquaculture Executive Director Ilya Sosnov told THE RBC newspaper, the site is located in the southern Primorsky region of Posyet Bay, 30 kilometres from North Korea.
Currently, there are no salmon farms throughout the Russian Far East, which is the main source of wild salmon.
