Russian forces have withdrawn only from the city of Kherson, but from the rest of Kherson province that surrounds the city and lies north of the Dnipro River.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its 30,000 troops have already crossed the river, a figure that matches the number of forces the U. S. had estimated at Kherson.

Russia also claimed that the fire inflicted damage on the buildup of manpower and military apparatus of the Ukrainian armed forces on the right bank of the Dnieper.
