Russia plans to deploy MASSIVE COVID-19 vaccines from October

Russia plans to start with the mass vaccines opposed to COVID-19 in October, with fitness staff and teachers first vaccinating against the disease, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.

A drug developed through the Gamaleya Institute in Moscow and the Russian Direct Investment Fund has completed clinical trials and the government will sign it with regulators, Murashko said, as quoted through state press service Tass.

The Gamaleya vaccine is expected to obtain conditional registration in August, further trials will be required on 1,600 people, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said Wednesday. Production is expected to begin in September, he said.

While the vaccine has been presented through its developers as and potentially the first to succeed among the public, the knowledge has not been published and the speed at which Russia is evolving has raised questions in other countries. Gamaleya is expected to begin Phase 3 testing next week in Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Russia has nearly 850,000 cases of Covid-19, the fourth largest in the world.
