Russia has launched the first batch of Sputnik V, its highly debatable coronavirus vaccine, for national release.
A member of Russia’s Ministry of Health said the vaccine will soon be available for global consumption, according to a MoneyControl report.
The vaccine evolved through Gamaleya’s National Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology Research and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (DRIF) on 11 August.
This occurs when the medical journal Lancet commented in a report that the vaccine developers said it looked and caused an antibody reaction in the other 40 people tested in the initial phase of the exam in 3 weeks.
However, the authors noted that participants were only followed for 42 days, that the examination pattern was small and that no placebo or vaccine was used, The Lancet added.
Research published in Lancet also disputed that the protection trial component included only men. In addition, the experiments involved other young people between the age of 20 and 30. Therefore, the efficacy of the vaccine for older equipment has not yet been established.
In early August, russian President Vladimir Putin’s daughter was the first user to get vaccinated against the virus after completing her clinical trials, according to previous reports.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko reported that the vaccine will be given first to frontline and at-risk groups, adding doctors, fitness and teachers, Russian news firm TASS reported.
On September 4, Russian scientists belatedly show the first effects of the first trials of the Sputnik V vaccine.
