Reflecting on his relationship with Disney, DeSantis received loud applause as he defended his resolve to take away from Disney the economic privileges they had received in his state.

DeSantis picks up the thread of a rivalry with California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), exposing the unrest in San Francisco and comparing it to other Democratic-led states.
“So you need to take your circle of relatives to dinner and walk, you have to dodge the feces that are on the sidewalk. You may have other homeless people roaming the streets. You may also have someone looking to attack you. ” Then you come to the place to eat and they tell you that I have to see your papers,” DeSantis says of San Francisco.
DeSantis cites New York as an example that led citizens to move to Florida. And he said Georgia could soon see the same thing with a victory for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, prompting an “exodus” to his state.
DeSantis picks out topics that have put him in the spotlight: opposing vaccine passports and covid mandates, with a look at top Democrats, “Brandon” to refer to President Biden.
DeSantis is also sending a message to the house about his record as governor of one of the nation’s largest economies and his efforts to keep schools open, an argument for independent and shifting voters.
Polls show both teams soured President Joe Biden after helping propel him to victory in 2020.
DeSantis opened his occasion by asking the crowd to “help me send an old, tired donkey to pasture,” repeating a previous hit to Crist.
In presenting his leadership on the COVID pandemic, DeSantis reviews the call from Dr. Anthony Fauci and others in Washington.
“We are swimming in opposition to the current. I mean we had all the bureaucracy of the federal government going forward,” DeSantis said. “Although I receive political pressure, I am more involved in saving their jobs than protecting mine. “
“It’s my job to take the arrows of the one,” he said.
Charlie Crist is a former Republican governor of Florida who switched parties to Congress as a Democrat.
Presenting himself as a moderate, he sought to make abortion a factor in the race and ignored DeSantis’ political and cultural battles.
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows DeSantis leading Crist by 11. 5 points.
DeSantis will face Democrat Charlie Crist on Tuesday. But it’s the festival with Trump that has already prompted Republican megadonors to show explicit interest in a 2024 DeSantis bid.
DeSantis doesn’t have to run for the White House in the next round, even if it means challenging Trump.

President Joe Biden’s approval score among independents hit an “all-time low” on a ballot before the midterm elections.
NBC News’ poll provided news to Democrats, saying they had maintained their enthusiasm for the midterm vote among Republican respondents. However, in the president’s performance, the ratings were decidedly low, especially among men at 38%, white electorate at 37%, rural electorate at 29% and, the lowest of all, independents at 28%.
“Biden’s job approval score is 44% in this latest NBC News poll. By the way, the lowest of all time among independents. His passing score is only 28%. And let me put it in context for you. What is a task? Some other people think it’s the ultimate vital indicator for understanding where the midterm elections are going,” moderator Chuck Todd said on Sunday’s episode of Meet the Press.

President Joe Biden warned in the final days of the midterm election cycle that democracy was in jeopardy if Republicans succeeded, saying in speeches across the country that the electorate deserves that selection when it casts its ballot on Nov. 8.
But Biden’s final message has sparked skepticism from Democrats that it’s a distraction from economic considerations weighing on the electorate.
“I’m an unwavering Democrat, but I’m not happy. I just think we don’t pay attention to the electorate in this election, and I think we’re going to have a bad night,” Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen said in an appearance. Sunday on CNN.

Police warned the election of a “bomb threat” at an early voting site, according to the New York City Board of Elections.
Emergency protocols were introduced without delay and a handful of voters were safely escorted, the council said Sunday on Twitter around 12:44 p. m.
Within 20 minutes, the board tweeted that police had given the “green light” and that voting had resumed on the spot.

A large number of law enforcement officials descended Saturday night at the headquarters of Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s crusade.
The FBI and Phoenix police, such as dangerous fabrics and bomb units, responded to an incident involving “suspicious objects,” Phoenix police said, according to NBC News reporter Vaughn Hillyard.
A source told the reporter that a powdery white substance was mailed in two envelopes. A Lake Campaign staff member opened one of the envelopes and exposed himself to the substance but reported no symptoms, the reporter said Sunday in a Twitter thread.
Lake once on Saturday night and is not believed to have come into contact with the substance, Hillyard said.
Phoenix police confiscated the fabrics and an investigation is ongoing.
Lake, a Trump-backed Republican, is running for Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.
Election Day is Tuesday.
A report released Sunday warns that Russian trolls and bots are back and targeting Democrats.
According to the New York Times, social media research corporations have spotted such resurgent Russian campaigns, accounts allegedly run by disgruntled Americans, on smaller platforms like Gab, Parler and Gettr. The scale of the effort appears to be smaller than in 2016, but the report states, bringing out scholars, that they are “no less pernicious. “
This network of accounts began to be reactivated in August and September, “calls to action like sleeper cells,” the report notes. Democrats, and President Joe Biden adds, are largely the ones denounced in the posts of those accounts. The report says the messages in particular, aimed at close races, add Senate races in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
The report, which was released just two days before Election Day, added that the messages also complain that the United States is pro-Ukraine as the country continues to fight a Russian invasion, aiming to stoke the anger of conservatives and sow doubt in the electoral process.

The election won 140 threats between July 11 and Aug. 22 in Arizona’s most populous county, records show.
The threats ranged from emails, social media posts and video recordings from poll workers, to documents received through Reuters. “You will all be executed,” one of the messages read. other.
Maricopa County Election Director Scott Jarrett warned in an Aug. 4 email that the other people behind the threats vowed to continue their habit in the midterm elections. “If our permanent and transitional staff do not feel safe, we will not be able to recruit and retain staff for the upcoming election,” Jarrett’s email said.
