Young thugs besathed communities from Magboro to Ogun on Saturday in search of warehouses that could buy COVID-19 palliatives.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that young people had traveled to Magboro communities on Lagos/Ibadan Road at 7 a. m. , moving from space to space in search of COVID-19 palliatives.
NAN reports that in recent days there have been unlimited looting of warehouses that housed relief pieces across the country through young sweepers.
One of the young men, who knew himself as Wasiu, said the organization had a clue that the palliatives were stored in the area, so they were there to take them away.
The young people, who had unlimited access, made their way to space in search of COVID-19 palliatives that may have been stored in the spaces.
Terrified citizens took a long time to convince thugs that there is no palliative for COVID-19 in their homes.
Young people also threatened to break the bars or doors of houses that denied them their concessions.
The chairman of the Magboro Community Development Committee (CDC), Mr. John Onoja, was mistreated through the thugs, suspecting that he was his phone to record them.
One resident, Grace Koleosho, said the thugs searched every corner of her home, adding her kitchen, before leaving.
“It’s a scary scene here, as the thugs insisted on hunting everywhere, adding my kitchen, looking for what doesn’t exist.
“My concern is that I suspect anything if they don’t come back for us later, having known the terrain in this area,” he said.
Another resident and retiree, Mr. Victor, said the thugs broke into his compound and asked for safety on the street because he expressed concern about his return.
After combing the domain for several hours, the thugs retreated to other spaces in search of palliatives until a police detachment dispersed them. (NAN)
