Rita Ora has apologized for violating another set of coronavirus regulations after it was revealed she deserved to have been quarantined when she hosted a locked birthday party.
The singer flew on a personal jet to Egypt on November 21 to perform at a five-star hotel and returned to the UK the next day, reports the Mail on Sunday.
He would have had to self-isolate for 14 days in accordance with government regulations, but instead hosted a 30th birthday party at a west London restaurant on Nov. 28.
Admitting to a second violation, he said in a statement: “I recently flew to Egypt to perform at a corporate event for a private company, where my organization followed protocol and presented negative COVID tests upon entry, as required by Egyptian authorities.
“When I returned to Britain, I followed the government’s advice and self-isolated for the required period.
“As you know, I didn’t follow the government’s recommendations and . . . I support them wholeheartedly. “
She also claimed that she and everyone else in her bubble had since tested negative for the coronavirus.
Warning others not to follow suit, he added, “While I realize that a pop star’s words of apology may not carry much weight, especially if she has violated regulations like I have, I realize that some seek to follow my lead. . .
“My message to them is simple: please don’t do it. “
He said “the guilt and shame I carried this week for my mistake is not worth it” and recommended people follow the government’s advice and “the voices of NHS heroes”.
The star pledged to donate the payment from his concert in Egypt to charity and said he would “accept the complaint that comes my way because I deserve it. “
Ora also posted an apology on her Instagram after news of her party was revealed.
She said she was “deeply remorseful” and “ashamed,” adding: “It was an impulsive resolution that was made with the concept that we were coming out of lockdown and everything would be OK. “
But while the Metropolitan Police proved that she went to the restaurant after reports of a COVID-19 breach, they did mention that she had also breached quarantine rules for travel.
Ora won widespread complaint for hosting more than 30 friends, adding models Cara and Poppy Delevingne, while England was in lockdown.
Her mother Vera Sahatciu is a psychiatrist and opted to return to work for the NHS during the pandemic.
She lives alone, so she has a support bubble.
Asked how he was coping with England’s lockdown moment, he told The Sunday Times Style: “I’m patient, I’m getting through it like everyone else. “
