Rising unemployment in the Netherlands; Deterrence of consumer sentiment

(RTTNews) – The Dutch unemployment rate continued in July and customer confidence weakened as families became more pessimistic on the economic stage in August, as knowledge of the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday.

The unemployment rate rose to 4.5% in July from 4.3% in June.The number of unemployed stands at 419,000 to 404,000 a month ago.

At the end of July, unemployment benefits were paid at 301,000, unchanged since June; however, until February, before the coronavirus pandemic, unemployment benefits rose to 61,000.

Another report from the Bureau of Statistics showed that the confidence index fell to -29 in August from -26 in July.

The sub-index that measures economic climate fell to -59 from -51. Consumers were pessimistic about the economy for the 12 months after and the next 12 months.

The buying will index slid from -10 to -9.Consumers have been less negative about money over the next twelve months.On the other hand, revisions on monetary over the past twelve months have deteriorated slightly.

Consumers were also more pessimistic about long-term unemployment in August than in July.
