The commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Onisivoro Covunisaqa, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Semi Mocelutu, commander of engineers, made a full excursion of the mission in Vanualevu this week.
The purpose of the stopover is to learn about the RFMF’s ongoing projects and also to interact with troops deployed elsewhere.
Brigadier General Covunisaqa reiterated the constitutional role of the RFMF and stressed the paramount importance of deployments and commitments on the ground.
Despite the harsh weather in Fiji, he expressed deep gratitude for the troops’ unwavering sacrifice and determination, especially when they were away from their families.
The stopover began with a courtesy visit to the North Division Commissioner’s Office at Macuata House, followed by a briefing on operations at G Coy (Sukanaivalu Barracks).
The crew filmed the new provincial construction of Cakaudrove at the Yaroi government complex before examining the church’s allocation in the village of Nakorovou in Kubulau.
They ended up with a stopover on the Kia Island church project.
Throughout the visit, Brigadier General Covunisaqa, Deputy Chaplain, Reverend Captain Tama, and Lieutenant Colonel Mocelutu actively engaged with the troops, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing the RFMF’s commitment to its constitutional tasks and network projects.
