Follow us in mastodon

Follow us in mastodon

In the first days of Covid, when the disease spreads like one of dust

And the overflow capacity of extensive care units

There are few positions like Brazil

And the Amazon is the zero zone

A signal of the way she can terrify

And what awaits everyone

Mass bulbs in Manaus

Hospitals with complete capacity

Oxygen is exhausted

Tip boxes

The increase in deaths

Especially indigenous populations

And President Jair Bolsonaro laughs at the virus

He tells the cameras that it is a bit cold

That is strong and will catch it (even if it does)

Fight with the governors

And locks

And refuses masks

And pushes unproven drugs

And his return turn to indigenous communities

Bolsonaro’s management attracts managers who execute in local lands

And the aptitude that took care of their peoples

And left the blocked indigenous territories, such as the islands in a sea of unknown and fear

But the country’s indigenous peoples are used to turning them.

And they act.

They are obstacles in entrances to their territories.

They temperatures

And sprinkle alcohol

And distribute masks

And block visitors

And endure the disease

What they know can devastate their peoples

And when Covid extends to his land

So do it everywhere

They to their ancestral medicine

Its local plants

Percentage with other neighboring tribes.

This is what the aboriginal of Almernda Ramos de Lima saw

In the maximum remote plugs of Brazil.

In the river,

near the Colombian border.

“The exams waited. They waited for the arrival of the doctors,” she says.

“Everyone has organized

And shared the classic they were preparing. »

“Where we have forests,

Where we have plants,

We have medicine, ”she says.

“We have our internal forest. “

Historical aboriginal leaders have fallen.

The Aritarian chef Yawalapiti, who directed his Xingu to other people for five decades.

Paulinho Paiakan, from Kayapó.

The artist and healer vovó Bernaldina . . . of the Macuxi tribe of the Ropose Serra do Sol Territory.

Wisdom and wisdom reserves. Heartbreaking losses.

But their other people sang.

And dance their tribal dances.

And venerated his enjoyed and his elders.

And the new leaders have increased.

Fight against his land, his communities and his lifestyle.

Now and forever.
