Indians with a valid Emirati visa can now enter the country. Pavan Kapoor, India’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, announced this in a recent Twitter post.

In the past, Indian citizens with a guest or tourist visa were prohibited from traveling to the United Arab Emirates. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of air operations for five months between the two countries.

This is news for many, as the country maintains close economic ties with the United Arab Emirates, as well as with other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. These come with Kwuait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.

The news will bring some relief to families who have continually tweeted by asking Indian missions to allow a circle of relatives and young people stranded in India to enter the United Arab Emirates on guest or tourist visas.

This initiative is part of the central government’s Vande Bharat project in which India has established “air bubbles” with the United Arab Emirates, which are valid until 31 August. Flights will take place from 16 to 31 August. Some of those 18 places come with Delhi in Dubai, Delhi in Abu Dhabi, Lucknow in Dubai, Abu Dhabi in Gaya, Dubai in Mumbai and Sharjah on Mangaluru.

Meanwhile, Indigo has indexed detailed rules for travelers to adhere to and from India and the United Arab Emirates. They also tweeted pretty much the same thing.
