Requirement for all foreign arrivals to a negative Covid-19 relationship: China

Passengers on flights to China since they will have to bring a negative Covid-19 verification report, the Civil Aviation Authority announced tuesday as the Chinese government stepped up its measures to control “imported” coronavirus cases.

Nucleic acid testing will be conducted within five days of the planned flight to institutes controlled through Chinese embassies in host countries, announced Tuesday by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The new rule will apply to Chinese citizens and foreigners traveling to China in a context of slow accumulation on foreign travel.

“Passengers who are Chinese citizens should take photos and download the effects of nucleic acid testing on a mini epidemic prevention program on China’s instant messaging platform WeChat,” the announcement reads.

Foreigners have to contact the Chinese embassy to get the process started.

“Foreign travelers must apply for physical condition at the Chinese Embassy with a valid written report of the result of a negative check,” he added.

Local Chinese embassies are tasked with assessing the verification capacity of host countries and formulating procedures when verification situations are met, CAAC said.

According to Reuters, CAAC has allowed more foreign airlines to resume in China and load flights to the country as the economy recovers.

“Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced friday that it would double the number of flights to and from mainland China in the coming weeks, and Air France KLM SA had obtained permission to board more flights to China,” the news firm said.

Last week, the fitness government announced that all overseas arrivals still had to go through quarantine and medical services at designated sites.

However, access with diplomatic, service, courtesy or “C” visas is unaffected, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

According to the national health commission (NHC), by the end of Monday, a total of 2,015 imported cases had been reported on the mainland.

As of Monday, the overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 83,693, including 242 patients who were still being treated, with seven in severe conditions.

The death toll remains at 4634.
